Boeing 787-8HSC | 2017

Airline - Dhahran Royal Flight
Aircraft - Boeing 787-8HSC | A9-REA
Delivered to Dhahran Royal Flight, 2017
Livery - Standard 2013
Country - Kingdom of Dhahran

Between 2017 and 2019, the Dhahran Royal Flight took delivery of four Boeing 787-8s in a Head of State Carrier configuration. These helped phase out the very old A310s and single 747SP still flying for the Royal Flight - both of these left the fleet in 2020. The 787s each have accomodation for a significant number of passengers, who can be members of the Royal Family, government ministers, diplomats, and guests. There is also a small section of Economy seating at the back of each aircraft, as well as a Command & Communications center mounted under the floor of the passenger cabin behind the central fuel tank, replacing part of the cargo storage area. Each of the aircraft is outfitted with secure communication antennae and datalink masts, mounted in enlarged radomes on top of the fuselage. The interiors of all four are identical, except for A9-REA (shown here), which is different in that it is fitted with a small airborne medical bay at the rear of the cabin and can be used as a medevac aircraft, with the possibility of carrying out intensive care or major surgery while in flight.

Disclaimer: This project is designed to look at the progression of aviation in a more-or-less generic fictional Middle Eastern state. The fictional Kingdom of Dhahran is located near the real Saudi Arabian city called Dhahran, but has no affiliation with it, and the name is a coincidence. Any other similarities to real people, locations, or situations may be intentional. I have zero knowledge of Arabic, so while I have spent considerable time trying to get it right, mistakes are possible, and any advice is greatly appreciated.

Oceanic vibes are strong with this. I like it!

Ohhh yeah I do see that now...I love the Oceanic brand and I guess even though this isn't even an airline, I was still subconsciously inspired by it. And thanks!
