Douglas DC-8-40 | XA-TEX

Douglas DC-8-40 | XA-TEX

TAMSA received its first DC-8 in 1962, pushing the airline into the jet age. Over the coming years, the fleet of DC-8s would replace the DC-6s on longer routes to Chicago, New York, Miami, and Madrid. The DC-8s served as TAMSA's flagship until the arrival of the 747 in the mid-1970s, and stayed in the fleet until their replacement in the late-1980s by Boeing 767 aircraft.
