3. Vanguard Airlines Boeing 747-100 "Pre-Delivery"

At the insistence of Founder and CEO John Trahan, Vanguard Airlines was a co-launch customer for the Boeing 747 in April of 1966. Before the aircraft's delivery, however, the airline ran several advertisements aimed to draw attention to the monumental aircraft and its effect it would have on the airline and the aviation industry as a whole. Since the airline would rebrand before the arrival of the 747, it would never see the Jet-Age era livery that had adorned the aircraft that had come before it, but that didn't stop it from appearing in advertisements beforehand. This is meant to be a "What if" the airline had not rebranded to it's world renowned "V" before the 747 had arrived.

N747VG is named for the long-time home of Vanguard Airlines, Memphis, Tennessee.
