In 2019, SkyHawaii made a surprise announcement that it would lease several Airbus A220-300 aircraft in order to launch flights to secondary airports on the West Coast of the United States, marking the airline's first services outside of the Hawaiian islands. The first aircraft is scheduled to be delivered in 2020 and will initially serve Sacramento, Long Beach, and Oakland.
