Stalled and crashed into a residential area during an aborted landing / attempted go around while approaching Chicago Midway, killing 43 out of 55 on board and 2 on the ground. The crash was attributed to pilot error. This was the first fatal crash of a Boeing 737, some five years after its entry into service.
