This is my first take on a retro-style livery so go easy on me
Before its rebranding to Swedavia in 1996, the airline flew as Svensk Flygfart AB, or SFAB for short. Translating rougly to "Swedish Air Travel Stock Company".
During the SFAB period, the airline named its planes after Swedish historical kings, with this 727 in particular being named after King Karl XII. When the airline rebranded as Swedavia, the planes started being named after famous and infuential historical Swedish figures. The reason was to honour ordinary people of a common birth instead of being exclusive to kings, some good and some bad. The last "king" flew in 2012, an MD-90 named after King Gustav V.
