Sunchaser | Boeing 717-200 | N671SC | 2008-present

Sunchaser was founded in 2007, with the goal to offer a better passenger experience in an era when flying had become a less comfortable experience than ever. Picking up 9 used Boeing 717s off the market, the airline began flights from Orlando to Miami, Fort Lauderdale and New Orleans on February 12th, 2008, with flights originating in other cities in Florida starting up in the coming days. Thanks to its relatively low prices and great service the airline quickly gained popularity, and was able to break even in Q2 2010, despite the financial crisis at the time.

Today Sunchaser has made a name for itself as an airline with great service, and has managed to thrive in the highly competitive US market. With a fortress hub in Orlando, from which the airline serves 61 destinations. The airline also has a major hub in Fort Lauderdale, from which it flies to 48 destinations. In 2014 Sunchaser announced it would be expanding to the West Coast, and on April 27th, 2015, flights from its newest hub of Long Beach in California to 11 destinations officially began. While it was an ambitious and risky move, as the airline had never flown into that part of the US and the LA market is a notoriously packed one, the airline's gamble paid off, with the LGB operations bringing in major profits for Sunchaser.

In late 2017, Sunchaser began negotiations with myworld, an investment group with stakes in airlines like myaustralia and hopper, to invest in the Orlando-based airline. On August 27th, 2018, myworld bought a 49% stake in the airline. Now backed by a major investor, Sunchaser has embarked on a program to replace its fleet of 72 Boeing 717s, with RFIs being sent out to manufacturers in December 2018, and an order expected to be announced as early as next week's Paris Air Show.

N671SC is the 7th 717 bought by Sunchaser, and part of its initial batch of aircraft. It first flew in 1998 with Pearsonian, who stored it in 2007. 671 operated the airline's inaugural MCO-MIA flight on the first day of operations, and is now based in Long Beach. It also inaugurated Sunchaser's Paine Field service on March 17th, 2019, flying the first of two daily flights from LGB. Like all aircraft in the Sunchaser fleet, 671 is configured with 12 First Class seats in a 2-2 configuration featuring 38'' of pitch, 20 Main Cabin Extra seats and 78 Main Cabin seats, featuring 34'' and 31'' of pitch respectively, and both in a 2-3 configuration.

Another brand, another huge ass story. Also this is my first serious attempt at a US carrier. Edit: New background. Huge thanks to Otaku for it :D
