In 1989 Global Airlines and Global Metrolink took delivery of two new aircraft types. These were the BAe146-300 - a larger version of the -200 already operated for Metrolink by New York Airlines - and the 737-500. The enlarged BAe146 entered service with NYA operating exclusively for Global Metrolink, and a total of ten were operated. The 737-500s - all of the 62 eventually delivered - were owned and operated by Global Airlines, however sixteen flew with Global Metrolink titles, operating shuttle routes between Boston, New York, and Washington DC. Both of these types were operated by NYA and Global Airlines until the mid-2000s, when they were sold off to other airlines and leasing companies.

    Thanks!

And yeah 717 is the ship number but I can see how that seems weird...

lol, it was a terrible joke. Are the bigger, more mainline planes the only ones with the numbering?

Everything owned by Global Airlines has ship number on the nose and tail. See previous images for more examples. The Saabs and BAes don't have ship numbers because they're owned and operated by New York Airlines.

Ahhh, ok. Thank you very much for the elaboration.
