Boeing 737-300 Italaria

During the launch of the Boeing 737, Italaria wanted to support the European aircraft industry and went with the Fokker 28 instead of the Boeing 737. Altough it had a smaller passenger capacity, they were perfect for the leaner routes in the network. Theres gonna be more about the Fokker later. In 1980, when Boeing proposed the 733 as a replacement for the Fokkers, Italaria didnt really have a choice. European aircraft manufacturers were basically nonexistant so Italaria bought 25 examples. Italaria made it big in the media announcing it as the "Italian Dream" because of the new short-medium haul interior fitted on these jets. All of the small Boeings were phased out in 2007, being replaced mainly by 737-800NGs, and partly by second hand Avro's (for short regional and medditeranean flights to Greece and Spain.)
