What could have been: TEAL Comet 4C

What could have been: TEAL Comet 4C

In March 1958, Tasman Empire Airways Limited (TEAL) recommended the purchase of three De Havilland Comet 4s to replace their old but hard-working DC-6s and Short Solent flying boats. However, due to the ownership structure of the airline (jointly owned by the NZ and Australian governments), in may TEAL instead selected the Lockheed L-188 Electra. It wouldn't be until TEAL was fully NZ-owned in 1961 and the completion of Auckland Airport in 1965 that the airline joined the jet club with the introduction of the Douglas DC 8-52 (as Air New Zealand) in July 1965.

Based on TEAL's Electra livery, with slight changes.
Special thanks to POTKC for the Comet 4C template.

What a beautiful livery...I'm honored to have it painted on my template!
