As the regional jet services of Southeast Pacific's regional subsidary, islahopper, are starting to transition to a more-viable propeller services, the airline has ordered 10 Bombardier Q400 to have that very sense of flexibility on flying longer and skinny routes (ie Cebu-Ilolo or Manila- Naga routes). But during the annual fleet evaluation process, Bombardier Q400 is one of the many choices of propeller plane to replace the aging BAE 146.

One of the propeller plane that were heavily considered is the ATR 72-600, a more affordable option. Even though in the economics scale of the ATR is astounding the performance of the Q400 is much more better than the competitors are offering. So, on May 15th of 2016, Southeast Pacific has ordered 10 Bombardier Q400 to be used on it's subsidary to would be full-on propeller service before the end of 2019.
