In 1974, the Royal Imperial Air Company, British International Airlines, and British Atlantic Airways merged, forming Royal Airways - Britain's new flag carrier. The livery incorporated the logos of RIAC and BAA, while trying to look more British than any of the three airlines that had come together to form it.
