Emerald's Domestic Network. Alaska and Hawaii aren't to scale and location (duh). Flights to business hubs and to tourist destinations.
First is that we've only got a 9000 foot runway there, which for a hot and high climate like Denver's doesn't make it really suitable for large aircraft necessary to service a large metro area like Denver effectively. Just about the largest things I've seen fly out of BJC is a C-130 and the firefighting BAe-146 based there.
I agree with you in general about BJC not being suitable for any real amount of operations, but this here isn't really something that makes sense. 9000ft should be enough for an A319 or A220 which is what the Emerald short-range fleet seems to consist of, and I doubt large aircraft would actually be flown into the airport. Apart from that, based on the very minor research I conducted in the last few minutes, there's some sort of DC-9 derivative parked on the ramp visible in the photo sphere at the airport in google maps, so that's something that shows similar-sized aircraft could be operated into BJC. Either way though, while I think it is technically possible, there's really no reason to do that - Emerald's business strategy does not make sense.
My eyes hurt.

Can you send over a screenshot? I can't find it and am curious because I hadn't heard about a DC-9 visit

Looks like DC-9-30 N697BJ, operated in a VIP configuration for the Columbus Blue Jackets, according to the information I could find this aircraft is at the Texas Air & Space Museum since 2016.

Ah must've flown in to play the Avs. Unusual still because most of the sports team VIP flights come in through DIA or Centennial Airport on the south side of town.
Hey so just FYI, Rocky Mountain Regional Airport on your map isn't really all that equipped to handle commercial service for a couple of reasons.
First is that we've only got a 9000 foot runway there, which for a hot and high climate like Denver's doesn't make it really suitable for large aircraft necessary to service a large metro area like Denver effectively. Second is just the general lack of facilities and room for expansion at BJC, with most of the airport property outside of runways being devoted to private aviation, FBOs, firefighting services and (soon) a Pilatus Aircraft interior plant. We do have a little terminal office thing with a CBP checkpoint, but that's about it.
I believe the only reason why BJC is in AE as a serviceable airport is because we had some stupid little airline flying out to Grand Junction with Fairchild Metro IIIs, but that's about it.
