By the late 1990s, the DC-10, once the backbone of Air Canadien's long-haul fleet and the first widebody aircraft operated by the airline, was almost completely phased out. The aircraft pictured here - C-CCJD - was converted to a -40F in 1998, the type was operated until 2003 (with only four aircraft of the original 22-strong fleet flying after 2000), and the final scheduled passenger DC-10 flight was Air Canadien 2313, from Kiev to Montreal, operated by C-CCJS on August 4th, 2003. CCJS and one of her sister ships, CCJU, flew sightseeing flights around Quebec through to the end of August 2003, before being stored in Victorville.
