Brasileiro 747-100

At the end of the sixties, Brasileiro was considered one of the world's top airlines and one of the most recognizable. Boeing's 747 program looked like an attractive proposition for the airline who was hoping to increase capacity on flights to Europe and North America flying their first routes from Rio to Los Angeles and New York. A new livery also made its debut with the 747 which simplified the overall look and would last until the mid eighties, configured for glamorous luxury the top deck featured a cocktail lounge with a distinctive carpet featuring patterns from Copacabana and Ipanema beach pavements and a selection of the finest cocktails in the sky.

The 747s would also be retired in the eighties due to a decline in passenger numbers with the final one leaving the fleet in 1989, some were converted to freighters while others found homes at various airlines worldwide.

This 747 was the fifth in the fleet and was named 'Curitibano'
