Mexicana A320 Livery 2008 & Beyond

I was deeply saddened in the late summer of 2010 when Mexicana de Aviación essentially ceased operations. I slowly watched the first airline I flew on and the only airline I really trusted slowly die. Mexicana was truly our family airline; it was the only airline my family utilized for our U.S. to Mexico flights. We enjoyed it so much that we despised and viewed Aeromexico as the enemy. Little did we know, however, that low-cost carriers in Mexico like Volaris were the ones doing the slaughtering and slowly watching Mexicana bleed out

To this day, I wonder what a Mexicana airline modern livery would have looked like using their original logo/eagle. I was shocked when Mexicana completely changed its livery and identity in 2008. That year, they threw away their simple livery and the distinct logo they had used for decades and went for a more "colorful" branding. This livery of a Mexicana A320 is my interpretation of what a new livery would have looked like using their original branding. The bit of popping green is inspired from the livery they used in the 90s.

Their bankruptcy livery was 10x better then this sadly, this is a downgrade.

I think you obviously missed the entire part where I said "This livery of a Mexicana A320 is my interpretation of what a new livery would have looked like using their original branding (original aguila)." Their original branding and livery was very simple and straight forward. So if they were going to revamp their livery using the original logo and brand in 2008, they were still going to keep much of the original concept with some minor changes.

It's quite obvious that the actual livery they chose was more modern and contemporary! The aguila/eagle was completely redefined in 2008.
So your interpretation had a blue logo on a blue tail, of practically the same color? Yeah, absolutely not.

Well it wasn't meant to be a drastic change nor a replacement to their complete re-branding in 2008. I was just thinking of how they would maybe have created a more conservative livery.

Notice the grey underbelly from their 2000s livery is gone and the line that ran along the fuselage was removed. The dark blue was expanded with a touch of gradient light blue. A tad of their 90s green was reintroduced via a curve.

This was just my methodology going into the livery. Of course, it's nothing spectacular. It was meant to be a very conservative livery that was contrary to their complete re-branding.
