2014: The Boeing 787 Dreamliner
UPDATE: Tail logo changed to white
Starting in 2009, Air Hanoi began placing orders for the Boeing 787 Dreamliner to expand its long-haul fleet. It was originally scheduled for a 2013 launch, but deliveries were deferred indefinitely after a series of lithium-ion battery problems forced the grounding of these aircraft that year. Soon after the issue was resolved, Boeing resumed delivery of the airline's 787 orders, with the first one entering regular service in mid-2014.
At the same time the 787 was launched, Air Hanoi updated its logo and livery to give itself a more contemporary identity. The new logo consists of a revamped iteration of the legendary chim lac bird and the "AIR HANOI" wording in a bold Vesta font. Likewise, the previous eurowhite livery is replaced with a more modern design.
