Huron Air Lines DC-4

Huron Airlines was an airline operating from Chicago and Cleveland. The airline was started flying mail and passengers with Lockheed Vega aircraft in 1926. During the 30s the airline grew in size to 10 aircraft. In 1936, the airline acquired the DC-3 airliner. It revolutionized the air industry as well as Huron. The airline grew to twenty and operated extensively in the Great Lakes and Mid Atlantic region. The DC-4 was the midline between the DC-3 and larger DC-6. It served Huron for many years to cities such as Minneapolis, Atlanta, Washington, and New York. It was retired in the late 60s by the DC-8 and 737.
