Air Portugal | 747-200 | 1983 - 1995 Livery

In 1968 Air Portugal has committed to obtaining six 747-200 aircraft the first of which entered service in 1971, these planes propelled the airline further into the jet age and reaching further into the Americas.

However as the 1973 global oil crisis rolled through wiping out most of Air Portugal's value the remaining 747 orders were cancelled, in the end the airline received a total of 3 aircraft which ended up serving a limited amount of destinations. In 1978 the airline was unable to cover it's debts and ceased operations on the 7th of December of that year.

The 747's along with some other aircraft were disposed to Aerienne which took over some of AP's operations by providing crew, facilities and services leaving Portugal with a French flag carrier until 1983 when the government revived the airline to prevent "Loss of identity in the Portuguese airline market" . Soon after the 747's were recovered from Aerienne and remained in operation until 1991.

Looks great, but the tail design ruins this. Maybe if the white line separating the green and red is angled differently, it would be better.
