Royal Canadian Airlines | Airbus A319 | 2018

In 2004 Royal Canadian Airlines realised that Airbus offers a great product ideal for the smaller Canadian markets, although we had many 737-300's in service we needed a replacement as our fleet was introduced back in 1985 with deliveries of the 14 737-300's complete by 1988 and the planes were getting older.

As a result after careful consideration in October 2004 Royal Canadian Airlines (RCA) has signed for 10 of these jets to be delivered through the years 2005-2009. Deliveries of the first 6 planes went smoothly however the global financial crisis forced us to postpone the delivery of the remaining 8 birds until 2010 when all 8 were delivered. Since 2008 RCA has showed strong signs of recovery and rapid growth which has allowed us to expand further into our Canadian market.

Today we have 17 A319's in service with state of the art In-Flight Entertainment and Service. The airplane has proved to be reliable and ultra efficient for its use.

In 2016 RCA has decided to sign for 5 A319NEO's to be delivered in 2019 to boost services from Edmonton and Calgary and we await these planes with excitement. These A319NEO orders bring our total NEO family backlog to over 37 aircraft with the first (an A320NEO) due to be delivered in the next two weeks.
