Hawker Siddeley HS748 (1972)

Hawker Siddeley HS748 (1972)

Before it's rebranding, Yukon North started life as Yukon Air Services, flying these HS748 aircraft to northern remote communities, and down to Edmonton. Edmonton become a focus hub for linking passengers with the North, with YAS forming interlining agreements with both Air Canada and Canadian Pacific Airlines.

YAS operated two HS748 aircraft to small, remote destinations in the high Arctic, such as Resolute, Rankin Inlet, Tuktoyuktuk, and the occasional charter from Iqaluit to Nuuk, in Greenland. These aircraft were taken out of operation as the 737-200 aircraft came online, and proved their worth hauling freight and passengers around the Arctic.
