Nusantara Indonesian Airlines Airbus A300-600R, Airbus A310-300 | PK-AFV, PK-AGG

Nusantara Indonesian Airlines received its first Airbus A300 in 1984, the first of 18 that were eventually delivered to the airline. The A300 formed the backbone of Nusantara's regional capacity, operating to destinations as far as Auckland and Sydney to the south, Tokyo to the north, and Dubai and Saudi Arabia to the west. With 280 passengers in a two-class configuration and 313 in a one-class configuration, the aircraft was responsible for a large number of Nusantara's Hajj flights from regional airports in Indonesia, supplementing capacity provided by the aircraft's Boeing 747 fleet. The A300s operated until 2006, when they were finally retired from domestic and Hajj service.

The first Airbus A310-300 arrived in 1986, as Nusantara was launching an international expansion, and 10 aircraft found a home with the airline. The aircraft allowed the airline to start flights to more destinations in the Middle East, as well as adding capacity to the airline's Asian network. Nusantara's A310s seated 225 in two classes, and were all retired in 2002, superseded by the Airbus A330 and A340.
