The final livery used by Brasileiro before the 1996 collapse of the airline.

The facelift of the airline's image was intended to present a brighter future for the struggling carrier and accompanied a large company re-organisation and fleet overhaul retiring older inefficient aircraft.

These measures proved to be ineffective however as in August 1996 Brasileiro collapsed and ceased flying. The brand made a return in 2005 as the low-cost airline AeroRio brought back the brand using 737 next gens under AeroRio flight numbers. There is speculation that AeroRio could relaunch it as an independent airline returning Brasileiro to its former position of Brazil's greatest carrier.
