3. Lockheed L-1011-200 | N347MA

MidAmerican introduced the Lockheed L-1011 in 1972, flying between Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Denver, Chicago and New York. Starting from the summer of 1973, the planes were used on flights to the Caribbean and Hawaii, becoming a symbol of a luxury vacation. The L-1011's "high, wide and handsome" design provided extra space throughout the cabin, bringing the passenger experience to new heights. In the early 1980s, the L-1011-200s were moved to the East Coast, where they became the backbone of MidAmerican's small but mighty transatlantic network. The last L-1011 transoceanic flight was flown in 1996, and the last L-1011 retired in 1999, replaced by a mix of Boeing 757 and Airbus A330 aircraft.

These are lovely. I really like this paint job on the 747 :)

    They are great!!!!

    OMG that is so hot!!!

The pinecone logo or whatever looks really bad on modern planes, but here it works nicely.
