KiboJet is the flag carrier and largest airline of Tanzania. Founded in the early 1970s as the full-service carrier Tanzaniair, the airline fell on hard times in the 2000s and rebranded itself in 2011 as KiboJet. Under the KiboJet name the airline has a hybrid business model, operating as a no-frills airline within Tanzania and Central Africa and offering full-service on flights to Europe, Asia, and Northern Africa. Following their introduction in 1999 the Boeing 737-300 became the workhorse of the airline's fleet, replacing their aging 737-200s by 2006.
