In 2002, Pacific National was in economic downturn, passenger numbers were falling and the fleet was aging. The board of Pacific National decided to risk everything, ordering 18 new Boeing 737-700 jets and unveiling a new livery, ditching the Pacific National name and instead moving to a new corporate identity; PNA.
