Linhas Aéreas Brasileiro 707-320C

Founded in 1929 as Servicos Aereos Brasileiro operating a flights from Rio de Janeiro by seaplane. The airline gradually expanded throughout Latin America operating its first international flight in 1947 with the Lockheed Constellation from Rio to New York with stops in Belem and Miami.

Brasileiro became the epitome of glamour and innovation in Latin America introducing the latest aircraft and some of the finest in flight services in the world while boasting an extensive route network. The Boeing 707 was introduced in 1960 and were named 'Star Clippers' bringing the jet age to Brazil.

This one arrived in 1962 and is nicknamed 'Carioca', she flew passengers with the airline until 1976 when she was converted to a freighter flying with the airline until 1990 when she was retired and put up for sale however in 1994 Brasileiro collapsed and ceased flying. Today she sits at the back of Congonhas Airport slowly rusting and surrounded by several of her sisters.

Out of the ashes AeroRio rose to prominence starting with one former Brasileiro 737-300 to become the largest low-cost airline in Brazil. The Brasileiro brand was revived in 2005 as a subsidiary of AeroRio operating 737 next gens under AeroRio flight numbers.
