CIAL - Ceylon International 787

With help from Oggey and Med its finally here. CIAL came about in the early 40s as Ceylon International Airways Limited, it later grew to become the flag carrier of the nation running a fleet of mostly British made aircraft, in 1974 a name change was considered from encouragement from the government when Ceylon changed its name to Sri Lanka. However, it was shown that the name had strong brand recognition around the world as well as in Sri Lanka itself and a decision was taken to stay with the same premise but with more emphasis on the acronym 'CIAL'.

Today CIAL is one of the premier airlines in southeast Asia and is in the process of phasing out its A330 fleet and replacing it with the Boeing 787-8 and 787-9, CIAL also operates the A320 series on the Asian routes and the 777 on the major European flights.
